Holly Gennaro McClane is talking to her housekeeper Paulina about making up a guest bed for her husband.
“I do that already!” says Paulina.
“What would I do without you, Paulina?” says Holly as she hangs up her phone. She looks at a family picture on her desk – – with the man from the airplane, John McClane, in the photo. She flips the picture face-down on her credenza.
The scene shifts back to the man walking away from the baggage carousel with his luggage.

A tall blonde woman squeals as she leaps into a man’s arms, wrapping her legs around him.
McClane shakes his head. “California,” he says.

As he walks toward the street exit, he’s passed by a long line of baggage carts. McClane spots a young African-American man wearing aviator glasses and holding a sign that says “J. McClane” with the Nakatomi corporate logo on the top of the sign.
“Hey,” he says, “I’m John McClane.”
“Argyle,” says the young man. “I’m your limo driver!” McClane nods his head. There’s an awkward pause.
“Nice bear!” says Argyle. McClane continues to look at driver.
“Okay – – Argyle,” he says.
