Holly and John are discussing where John is staying during his California trip.

“Why don’t we make it easy?” asks Holly. “I have a –spare bedroom. I mean, it’s not huge or anything, but the kids would love to have you at the house.”

John smiles. “They would, huh?” he says. He looks at her.

“I would, too,” she admits.

Just then, an office couple stumbles through the door.

“Oops, sorry!” says the girl. They leave. Outside the office, the chamber music quartet plays Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.

Holly looks at John. “I missed you,” she says.

John hangs up the towel he was using and leans against the door frame. “I guess you didn’t miss my name, though,” he says, “except maybe when you’re signing checks?” Holly’s smile disappears. “Since when did you start using ‘Ms. Gennaro?'”

Holly sighs. “It’s a Japanese company,” says Holly. “They figure a married woman’s gonna-”

“You *are* a married woman, Holly,” interrupts John. “You’re married to me!”

“Are we going to have this conversation again?” asks Holly, closing her eyes and shaking her head.
